Kick off your afternoon at the Turner Valley Gas Plant exploring Western Canada's first commercial oilfield and processing plant. Take a guided tour around the site, exhibit hall, and through the rich historic buildings. Explore the birthplace of Alberta's petroleum industry situated in Alberta's backyard. 

The tour continues as you make your way to Eau Claire Distillery and travel back in time to the days of Prohibition when the Moral Reform League declared war against the scourge of alcohol. The Prohibition Experience opens the doors to the sights, sounds and tastes of the 1920s, where you will learn about Alberta’s place in Prohibition history, Turner Valley whisky trading and how Eau Claire Distillery came to be. A guided tasting of Eau Claire Distillery's award-winning spirits and an unmistakably delicious craft cocktail are included in the experience.

The Gas Plant tour starts at the main entrance

*Closed toe shoes are required for entry into the Gas Plant tour.  Please dress for the weather as most of the tour is outdoors.  Tour is weather dependent, In cases of severe weather the tour may be postponed or refunded.

Once you finish the Gas Plant Tour make your way up the street to Eau Claire Distillery.

The Prohibition Experience begins at the Alberta Temperance and Moral Reform League Office in Turner Valley, Alberta. Located Three doors west of Eau Claire Distillery.

*Must be 18 years of age to enjoy spirits & 12 years of age or over to participate. One piece of Government-issued photo ID required.

Check-in: Opens at 3:45pm, 15 minutes prior to the experience, outside the Alberta Temperance and Moral Reform League building.
